Employing a young person from the YMCA Bridge Project is beneficial for your business. You don’t hire just one person; you hire one person and a team that stands behind them and supports them around the clock.

YMCA Bridge Project provides full support for its partnered businesses to ensure a successful integration for the young people it hires through its program.

Our Bridge Project case managers are fully qualified to support businesses with work placements and providing mentor training for your staff. Providing a job requires no more effort than a normal recruitment process but has more community impact.

While the needs and abilities of each person involved in the program may differ, we generally follow this 5-step process:

  • Employer
    1. Expression of interest from potential employer
    2. Meeting to determine terms of employment and other needs to best match with potential participant
    3. Employer matched with suitable participant
    4. Participant undergoes recruitment process including training, terms of employment, and induction
    5. Intensive case management throughout duration of employment
  • Participant
    1. Referral from contracted partner
    2. Potential participant undergoes thorough risk assessment including police checks and reference checks
    3. Participant matched with suitable employment placement
    4. Participant undergoes recruitment process including training, terms of employment, and induction
    5. Intensive case management throughout duration of employment
