    2024 Youth Parliament Team Application form

    1. Please answer the questions below and submit your responses by 5pm Sunday 12 November 2023.

    Late submissions will not be considered. Please review information about the 2024 Victorian Youth Parliament program prior to completing your application.

    2. 20 teams are selected to be a part of the Victorian Youth Parliament each year. They are chosen for representing the geographic and demographic make-up of young Victorians. The successful 20 teams will commence the program from Thursday 29 February 2024.

    Section One - Resource Person Details

    A Resource Person is the liaison point between a team of six members and The Y Victoria. Your responsibilities include:

    • Assisting in organising meetings with the team’s assigned Taskforce mentor.
    • Assisting the team as required, but acknowledging that as young leaders, the participants should lead the decision-making process and workload.
    • Ensuring the team’s indemnity forms are completed and submitted on time, and assisting in following up missing information.
    • Being a point of call if an issue arises with the team, including issues about payment or team members.
    • Ensuring payment is made in full, in accordance with the agreed timeline.
    • Supporting the team to feel prepared for the residential camps, including assisting in the sourcing of parliamentary clothes, and ensuring participants feel confident attending camp.

    Section Two - Team Details

    Are there already six young people in the team who meet the requirements to participate in the program?

    Team members need to be confirmed by Monday 11 March 2024. Please provide step by step your approach to finding and onboarding team members, or if you already have a full team, replacing a member in the case of a current young person dropping out.

    Please briefly describe the background of the team seeking to participate in Youth Parliament (e.g. past leadership programs they may have been a part of, community initiatives, demographics that you feel would contribute to the diversity of the 2024 Youth Parliament participant cohort.

    Please describe what benefits participating in Youth Parliament 2024 would provide the team members or prospective team members.

    Section Three - Payment Details

    Deposits will not be accepted with initial applications. In the week following applications closing, both successful and unsuccessful teams will be notified, and payment details for successful teams will be confirmed. The Y Victoria, in partnership with the Victorian Government, is committed to providing opportunities to all young people from all walks of life.
